At what age do women stop having periods?

Im a cashier so every time im at work I see elders buying tampons it always makes me curious why they still have periods, I thought when they get old they would stop having periods, these women I see are 50-65+

I seriously doubt they are 65+, but most women stop having a period around 50ish, but they can continue on in some women till around 60 if they've had abnormally high estrogen levels from the beginning of puberty, but that's a very small percentage. Odds are the women you see that are that age are probably buying tampons for younger family members.

Early to mid 50s is the most common age range for women to go through the menopause, but it can vary. Almost all will have stopped having periods by 60, so probably buying for daughters or granddaughters.

it varies a lot. some in their end 30s. some in their early 50s. i would say 60s is an extreme outlier.
