Do girls smile at guys they consider good looking?

So I watched this video yesterday on how women act when a guy is attractive versus if he is ugly and usually they get weirded out if they consider the guy ugly and he looks at her or approaches. So I was out walking my dog and a pretty attractive girl smiled when we made eye contact as she was going by.

No. I mean that isn't a 100% for sure thing that a girl smiles and it means she likes the guy or finds him attractive. A friend of mine is living proof of that. She smiles at everyone because she is one of those naturally happy people. While she is my friend it is sometimes annoying that she smiles all the time. I sound like an ass for saying that about someone that is always happy but she really is like that CONSTANTLY. So just because someone smiles doesn't necessarily mean they find that person attractive. It could be a case like my friend I described or someone that is very outwardly friendly. So just because that happened don't take it as an open invitation she was into you at first glance. She could have just been in a good mood or a naturally friendly person.

No I ask because I simply have low self esteem and after seeing this video on YouTube it made me consider if I’m just living in my head and women don’t actually see me that way. I wasn’t thinking about approaching but the experience was just jarring for me

The problem is I can go on YouTube right now and post something that says the opposite. Who is to say I am right and the other video would be wrong? It will depend on what you want to believe. The real thing is that of course SOME will smile because they think a guy is attractive and others will smile because they are friendly or happy as I pointed out. You can't take it to mean the same thing. I am sure that there are plenty of women that have seen you and found you attractive. Self esteem is a product of confidence or lack of. Work on the confidence.

Well some of these videos showed a stark contrast to how guys are treated based on appearance even if the girl was friendly. Like it’s sad that in society it operates this way but it was a social experiment

That is the harsh reality. Some people suck. Doesn't matter the gender. If you have been on this site for any length of time you will see the same group of male users that spend hours a day doing nothing other than bashing women. So it goes both ways. Girls can be caddy and mean. They can also be genuine and sweet. It depends on the person and generalizing is never a good thing to do.

First off, I don't like the term "ugly". Everyone has something that appeals to others.

Next, take these vids with a grain of salt, will you please? Some of them are ridiculous.

People generally tend to smile (or smile back) at people who carry themselves with a cheerful disposition. If you were walking your dog (or if you had been holding a baby) you probably got a few smiles bc women are super into puppies and babies and cute stuff. It's a moment of vulnerability in which a woman can see that a guy isn't on the defensive and is possibly looking a little goofy with his dog. (Yes, women will also smile at you if they think you're attractive or somehow appealing, but the context of the precise moment will be a better indicator of the why.)

Well one of these videos stood out because the video was a repost from a TikTok but the girl was having a complete meltdown because a guy she considered ugly approached her in a parking lot. She yelled at him and was shaking in her car

No, I get far too many smiles in that case because I'm an ugly bastard
