Why does my boyfriend hate when I drive barefoot?

I never drive with shoes on and my boyfriend hates that. He says it's dirty and even dangerous.

I don't know what to do because I'm not used to drive with shoes

I think it should be more of the concern about it being dangerous than anything. Think about it: If you got into a crash or accident, what would you do if you couldn't get out because your feet have nothing protecting them, so they're very injured & wounded? And even if you manage to get out, you might not be able to get your shoes so it's even worse. Anything that's hurt badly could get infected very easily then once you go out of the car.

It can be dangerous to drive barefoot and even moreso in flimsy shoes. Your shoes have better traction on the pedals than your bare feet and you can apply more force to the pedals while wearing shoes. Flip flops can actually get caught on the pedals and cause you to lose control of the car as well

He told you. It’s dirty for one. Especially if you put your shoes on then you go in the house. Take off your shoes, walking around inside w your dirty feet. Putting them on the couch. Or do you wash your feet after? Two, yes it can be dangerous to drive w out shoes.
