My girlfriend had a dream that she cheated on me. What does that mean?

She wanted to tell me right away, but I was asleep, so she shared it with me the next morning. In her dream, she sneaked a guy from her work into her bathroom to have sex. She mentioned feeling it was wrong because she's with me, but in the dream, she still wanted it badly. She doesn't remember anything else, just the guy leaving afterward. I know it's just a dream, but I'm finding it hard to let it go.

Tel her how would you feel if I was dreaming about a female co worker and I fucked her and enjoyed it? So it’s nothing to do with jealousy and insecurities , it comes down to respect for each other , so if you can’t respect me , I sure as hell won’t respect you. Dreams are nothing to take seriously, in my opinion.

If every dream I had said something about me I'd basically just be a delusional psychopath with schizophrenia, because my dreams are all super random and happen super fast, and it's almost impossible to explain them to another person. In some dreams I'm the good guy, in other dreams I'm a literal murderer, etc... in other dreams I'm just going by with my normal life, others I'm riding a rainbow colored dragon as I kill zombies with powerful ice that shoots out of my hands, etc...

I read that dreams are basically your brain trying to make sense of the information you gather in your life.

Dreams are nothing to take seriously unless they're really stressing you out and ruining your quality of sleep.

I've read that dreams might represent your subconscious mind, but even then I'd say what you do matters way more than what you think. And it's not like you can really control subconscious thoughts and feelings anyway.

SO… Without knowing your relationship dynamics where u all are at etc. - in general I would say Don’t get carried away over a dream or interpreting it (not all dreams we have are a direct beelines to our dying hopes & desires)!! Sometimes it’s just a way of healing or moving on from something in the past…..


I would stay focus on your actual relationship and not her dreams (unless re-occurring and she keeps telling you about it)..
As long as other aspects of relationship are going well, then certainly no reason to read too deep….

It could be an unconscious desire of hers. And this means that possibly she's not even aware of it herself. This said it is only a dream and it doesn't necessarily mean she will cheat on you or want to cheat. Depending on the duration of your relationship and it's dynamics I wouldn't obsess too much over it.
