So I backslapped and stepped away. Cops cited me but arrested her for committing assault.

What world do you live in that this happens. This is just people not managing their emotions and being on edge. It happens, it's awful and says there's a problem in your stress levels.

Take the lesson to work on yourself so when confronted can respond with compassion etc.. I blew up recently as well on my wife, I had my reasons pent up and on a bad day, I went off. It sucks being a human. Recommit to work on yourself. Time to go to church, pray, turn off social media, get emotions out, etc etc.. and make amends with this woman. Never know what the other person is facing that causes them to be so bad.

That said... spitting at someone is awful, yes.

I can't condone a man hitting a woman, but for a different reason than you might think. As a man, you will always face harsher consequences for putting your hands on a woman. Its just the way it is. So the smart thing to do, is to not physically retaliate unless there is a weapon involved, or you feel your life or property may be in danger. Always assume that any women that spits on you or hits you first, will deny it if law enforcement gets involved. So, don't give them a reason to potentially lie on you. Pull out your phone, record them, and use your words to deescalate the situation in the future. Don't create more problems than you already have.

I got in trouble after elbowing a crazy bitch in a club who attacked me from behind with a stiletto because I told her to f*ck off when she demanded I buy her and her friends a bottle of champagne.
