Do we need to read an entire essay to get the implications of such a standpoint which has little to do with philosophy and all to do with internal psychology ? Because, yes, it is a thing that any intellectual of any era can rationalize, intellectualize simple things, like affection they dearly miss for instance. That are the findings of psychology, it's a field of study born from philosophy and it has many voices, studies, university classes, schools of thoughts and ideas to share about human condition as well.

I've never before heard of him, but I do not disagree with Schopenhauer, if this video is to be believed as portraying him accurately.
I can't agree with the statements saying that he hated women without being shown proof of him actually making those types of statements.
Without further research into the facts of his stated views, it's my belief that he simply called things as he saw them.
It's a worldview that is shared by me.
I do not blame women for being as they are.
They are hardwired to be women, just as men are hardwired to be men, with their own accompanying foibles.

It's extreme words but the premise that women and men are brought together by the attraction MEN have OF women says the pull is toward women. This is a social construct in most cultures and given the strength dynamic it's more likely for men to take the initiative/the woman in animalistic terms rather than the other way around. The outcome though is that both end up in an emotional relationship and for men that becomes a drag as the nurturing and supporting behaviour that requires isn't rewarding enough for them on the whole.
So, by being appealing to men women lure them in, guilt them into sticking around after providing them with the goodies that come with copulation and perhaps offspring THEN expect them to stick around and assist in brining up the crotch goblins as well as provide protection and life essentials.
