Do you predominantly prefer a female protagonist? What sort of qualities in the protagonist do you like? What sort of adventures interest you?

all possible fiction...

I like magical worlds like the "Black Jewel" series by Anne Bishop or Andre Norton's "Witch World"

I like books about magical creatures like "Dragonriders of Pern" by Anne McCaffrey...

and McCaffrey herself created unique books and series... like "The Crystal Singer" and "Catalyst" and many many many others...

I love SF, especially a bit dark like books from the Alien universe... and some funny ones like the "Sector General" series by James White, "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" series by Douglas Adams

I like a bit more demanding books like the "Dune" series by Frank Herbert

I love hard SF like the Ice Moon series by Brandon Q. Morris or "3 body problem" series by Liu Cixin

and I really admire Polish fantasy and SF... especially Stanisław Lem's all books, Jarosław Grzędowicz's "Pan Lodowego Ogrodu" series and Maja Lidia Kossakowska's "Żarna niebios" series...

I’m a fan of a good fantasy and sci-fi book. Ursula Le Guin is a favorite author of mine who’s written plenty in both genres. And so many of them offer great new viewpoints on the world around us. The Left Hand of Darkness especially does a great job of helping people view gender roles in an objective light and the negative implications of it.

The last two novels I read are James, by Percival Everett and Blood Meridian by McCarthy Cormac. So go figure.
