Im nearly 31 always thought i was hetero, I watch str8 porn or just girls solo. I fantasize about women that i find attractive. But in reality nearly everyone thinks im gay, women slur me by far more than men by 10x. Coworkers, classmates, college professors, family physicians, police officers, attorneys, probation officers, fast food employees and strangers in public have all called me gay slurs or told me that I was gay/fa**ot. Anyone I tell doesn't believe me and doubt people would treat...

... someone so rudely or risk losing their job. I don't know why this is so hard for me to accept that Im gay. I wish I could see myself as clearly as others do.

Anytime Im in public only women call me gay slurs. Honest to God, I dont even talk to women unless I have to. Only friend or relationship I have with a woman is my mother, and even that is strained. I never even spoke to or was a brother to my little sister in all her 23yrs of life.

Maybe it is more how you dress? I don't know why. Maybe the girls in the States are not so tolerant? I don't know. But Gay men look mostly better, care about health topics or fashion. My experience so far. So if you dress usual and not as a paradise bird ist should not be any point of saying anything bad... to look different can cause bad talkings. So I try to avoid this - I look also exotic for the people here. So I can understand this problem.

I am a Croatian living in the States. I dress rather homelessly, im unattractive and have poor hygiene. I am also quiet and never talk, have nothing to be confident about, have no hobbies or interests but smoking weed which I can no longer do due to being unemployed and dead broke. I used to dress well up until my mid 20s where i thought maybe people think im gay because i dress with style so i gave up and still continues

That might be the reason - usually gay people are more hygienic than women, what I know so far. But that is not a Gay-thing. You can try to find out why you don't look after yourself in a way so others could accept you when you watch yourself.

I dont care for myself because I hate myself and its reaffirmed by how im hated by the world.

I don't think so. They seem to hate straight men these days. I'm a straight guy and I hate everyone but gay people. They don't bother me.

Im gay, and the most homophobia I receive comes from women. Guys want nothing to do with me simply because im a fa**ot so I never had friends

I don't like to have guy friends anymore generally speaking. None of my old buddies are any fun anymore anyway.. When I was married to a woman the only guy friend I would've liked to have would've been gay men because they wouldn't try to have sex with my wife, and they are usually nice to me.

I don't think so. Rather than thinking of them as competition they seem to think of them as safe friends.

Women hate me because im a homo. I only receive hate from that gender. One even told me she's not glad that im around because im gay. Another group of women replied to me asking where the gloves were at for work by saying 'he wants to paint his nails'.

I've only passed through there but I assume it is a rather conservative town. I don't think it is representative of more cosmopolitan areas.

I've worked with only a couple of guys i knew were gay due to their flamboyancy and they were never treated as I was, quite the opposite. They were respected, befriended and accepted. I was/am shunned, hated and rejected. I doubt im the only gay in any given public setting yet im the only one I ever hear being bullied, insulted and gossiped about.

I think its because im trying to be someone im not and its not conforming to the mold they cast me in. One of these coworkers was at a Red Robins, on my first, maybe 2nd day, I overhear the waitress gossiping saying "he's gay, look at his face". I later get approached by nearly all the guys at work and they start asking questions and mocking my name showing 0 respect, I got angry told them off and how i overheard the gay rumors and said I wasn't. Since then all day every shift for 5 months I was called a f***** to my face by the entire staff even lower management (schedule and shift managers) one even told me to kill myself already nobody likes you. That other gay dude there not once while i was there was hated. That out of all the jobs I worked was the worst. Another bad experience was walking into a college classroom and the professor, again female, was helping a student when she turns to me as im standing at the front of the class and calls me a fa**ot and the whole room erupts in laughter at me as I stand frozen in the moment

I would need more of a reason to hate someone than their sexual orientation. That doesn't affect me in the slightest.
