What does it mean to be a woman?

I've seen this question asked elsewhere especially in reference to transgenders but it got me to thinking what does it really mean to be a woman?

I do not want to get into the trans debate here or argue about body parts. I have a cycle every month and my body is designed to grow another human inside me. (When I was a little girl growing up on a farm and realized that something could grow inside me like it did in some of the animals, I was so freaked out, lol!)

So, other than that I sometimes wonder if I make a very good woman at all. First, I'm lesbian and I really do not want children of my own. I'm not very maternal (except with animals) but neither me or my sweetie are the "Butch" type. Neither one of us plays the "male role". (Tho she "wears the pants" so to speak with finances and all that 'cuz I'm horrible at it.) We both like to look pretty (by rural standards) but we're both country girls so we like to get muddy, go fishing and many other activities usually not associated with being a woman.

Seen those vids of baby giraffes all wobbly trying to walk? That's me trying to walk in heels. I just can't do them and I know in my heart whoever invented heels was a sadist.

Seen any video of Chewbacca the wookie? That's me after spending hours trying to do my hair which still always looks like I just got out of bed.

Seen vids of faces covered in war paint? That's me trying to do makeup.

Seen a clowns attire? That's me trying to assemble an outfit I feel has fashion sense for the evening.

See the slobby girl over there covered in mud, drinking beer and prolly not acting very lady like at all. Yup. That's me. Yet I embrace my feminine side and I love being female. I am very loving , I am very caring, I often let my emotions rather than my thoughts dictate my actions. But so do some males.

Again, I really don't want this to be a debate, please, but I am wondering others thoughts on What does it mean to be a woman?

Being is woman to stfu when someone says that women are evil to protect your peace.

I used to hate pink, dress all Tom boy and act tough because being feminine is 'weak'. Because being feminine is to be a p*ssy.

Pretty interesting cuz vaginas can give birth unlike those very strong d*cks, can be manipulated and hurt so easily.

I used to agree with my misogynist and homophobic cousin because it was the 'right' thing. When he said that a good key can open many locks and a bad lock can be opened by many keys, I thought that a good sharpener can endure several pencils and a bad pencil needs to be sharpened often. When he said that a girl is like a diamond and diamond is hidden so girls should be covered properly by clothes, I thought that there's no difference between a diamond under soil and a stone under soil.

But I stayed quiet. Because I won't be his cool favourite cousin if I go against his words.

Being a woman is to please others, because why even be a woman if you can't please others?

I stayed quiet when this history professor said Marie Antoinette was way way way more evil that Louis 16. Because if I go against his facts then I become a feminist nuisance in his eyes.

I stayed quiet when I was my 17 year old cousin married off to a guy 10 years older than her because the guy belonged to a rich family and didn't ask for dowry. And apparently if a guy doesn't ask for dowry in marriage he's not doing the bare minimum, he's straight up god's other form on Earth.

I stayed quiet when my uncle was scolding my other cousin because he was playing with my dolls and I was playing with his electric car. He said my cousin to give those good for nothing dolls to me because I'm a lady.

Being a woman is to hate being a woman.

I've mentioned I'm off a farm. My primary school was alongside a bull paddock and at appropriate times of year there would be cows birthing calves. So yes, there were elementary lessons for girls in what being female meant at primary school.

The girls would get this open mouth fixed stare watching proceedings with an intensity us boys found disturbing. :)

So you are basically saying that you don't fit into the classic stereotypes of femininity.

I'd say though loving, caring, and emotionality are pretty classic feminine attributes. It is not to say men don't love, care or react emotionally because we do.

It is more I think men and women deliver in different styles. Women tend to deliver in comforting way whilst men might deliver in a tough love way. A friend is a butch bull dyke and her delivery style is still more comforting than tough love.

You gotta go through paying , you , gotta go through hell  Sometimes you're just gonna want to fall to your knees. But it also means that you're going to find yourself and you're gonna stand straight app and you're gonna keep walking forward, because that's just what women do. That's who they are. The normal definition is grown up female, the extra definition is grown up female who is feminine enough, you obviously fit the normal definition, you was not born a male, but you lacking in the second definition, as I don't think that a woman who don't want children of her own is a 'real woman', dressing and makeup are minor, as they artificial.

Feminine means to me, to be gentle, kind, loving, nurturing

I’m like you cause I am a lesbian but I also am not butch. I enjoy being feminine but the only makeup 💄 I wear is lipstick. And I have a girlfriend that wears the pants but she isn’t butch either.
