What do you think of the UK miniature camel craze?

Miniature camels are fast becoming the must-have pet among young left leaning progressive in the UK looking to embrace what multiculturalism has to offer. They are particularly popular among same sex couples looking to break free of the dated dog for men, cats for women stereotype.

Cities are essentially deserts, the barren dry rock of the desert replaced with hard dry concrete, making them the ideal environment for camels. Come summer, when the winter floods have subsided and there's a water shortage, they make the perfect pet.

Unlike dogs, which are often racist, camels are welcomed by everyone, and there's no record of them savagely ripping kids apart. Best thing is camels are vegan and lots of pet shops stock organic camel food.

So thoughts, would you like a miniature camels as a pet?

I kinda wish this was real. I’ve met a few camels in my lifetime. Either i got lucky or they get a bad rap. Moody spitters, they say. That said, i am a cat person. They love me and i love them. I know that makes me special. Dogs love everyone. I haven’t met any of the racist mutts to which you referred. If camels really are particular about their people, keeping one that loves me above all others would reinforce that sense of being special that i get from being a pussy’s favorite person. Like Toyota once said, “Oh… what a feeling!”

Oh, I so would have some! Maybe a Lama? They are close to camels but less problematic.

A miniature camel is still an awfully large pet. Only people who have green space and roaming space should keep an animal so large. Also they are herd animals and thrive alongside other herd animals such as cows or sheep.

If you can't provide such a habitat for a camel, it would be unwise to keep one.

Camel toes are attractive to look at. I am in agreement here.
But then... the culture I associate camels with is some kind of repelling to me.
Even if it's miniaturized.
As a conclusion, I "think" that having a pet should perhaps be reserved to those who like their pet of choice in general - and don't get one for 'political' reasons?
