How important is shyness? Does it matter to guys if a girl is shy?

Depends. The more extremely shy girls I never even notice. They may aswell not exist. If you are any less shy than that it desn't matter much. If you are out there where I can see you and struggle through a conversation I start and carry then you're fine. Most men value women on looks, then virtue, then baggage so you have two chances to make up for being shy before we even get to that part of the evaluation with things of higher weighted value. Yes it matters but not as much as some other things matter.

As some has already referenced, not necessarily. From my perspective, it may be more of a benefit, as the quiet ones do tend to be the good ones. She may have a ton of value in her real personal character as a person, but it just may be harder for her to open up. Yes, she may be really attractive, but just harder to reach out and get her to open up without the good man being accused of being a creep, juvenile, or pervert.

From my experience, guys just don't notice you if you're shy. I faced this when I was 14-15, then I started trying to change myself. It was hard to become an extrovert, overcome a lot of complexes, change my character... but I was able to... I won one of the most difficult victories in my life, I defeated myself. And I don't regret anything

Shyness is merely unfortunate.

It can be overcome.

I was cripplingly shy as a child and as a young man before deciding to break myself out of my painful shy shell.

There hasn't been a shy bone in my body now for 45 years or so.

I might think that if I were to be attracted to a shy lady, that my loving attentions might have a positive effect on her shyness.

No well I can't speak for other guys but I like shy girls because it means something and when a shy girl is ready to open up you can't keep her quiet

But most shy girls are just deep thinkers and they're smart because they're being shy they're being quiet to get to know you and how you act Who You Are shy girls are very very wise introverted and wise very smart girls

If she's shy initially but opens up after she get to know people, there's a possibility for some sort of friendship or relationship. If she's a perpetual wallflower, I'm probably not sticking around to manage an adult child. Shyness indicates insecurity. Insecurity usually indicates neediness. And that can get really annoying over time.
