Most the time we are blind to it , because we get set in our ways and just assume everything misaligns when really it isn’t. When my ex and broke up it took me a bit to figure out she was on our way out the door , The first thing I realized was she all of a sudden was more concerned about her appearance , and got into fitness more and make up more , this is still a 50/50 chance , but it’s best not to ignore that sign. Next she started to not do her part in the chores around the house , she kept making excuses as to why she didn’t do certain things that I never had to ask her about before. But all of a sudden most the house chores weren’t done , and the reason for it , is because she was investing all her free time into whatever she had planned up her sleeve. The 3 rd sign not to ignore , is the lack of intimacy and affection , she no longer wanted intimacy and affection like she did before. But she would still be polite to me acting like everything is ok , when clearly it wasn’t. There is more signs but I would like to hear what you experienced when a partner was about to leave you

She rations sex and it's content. She stays late at work. She started buying more durable goods to start over. If she was tubby, she slims down. She will look for justification and even set it up. She draws cash from savings and checking. There's more.

I can attest to doing these things as a woman leaving my partner. It wasn't "planned" in the way you make it sound. It's more... when the love goes because he isn't treating you right, or ignored the warnings you gave, etc... when the love goes you stop investing in the relationship. And yes stop caring so much about things like hurting his feelings if you dress sexier or go out doing your own things more. Because before you would consider his feelings if he was jealous or controlling or insecure. But now you don't care. So it's not a concious "I'm leaving you" but it's certainly a path way to it and yes, if a guy cares about his relationship he should see the signs it's "on the rocks" if he wants to turn it around before it's too late. But most men don't because they can't be bothered or prefer to blame the woman and not look at the causes from themselves. They don't have to be assholes or evil to "fail" a woman emotionally in a relationship. Many just get lazy and treat a woman as an unpaid slave, mom and fleshlight.
