Is 5'7 actually short, tall, or just average height for a woman?

One of my cousins from my dad's side of the family sometimes complains about it. She really thinks that's slightly on the short side or just average. She considers tall for a woman to be 5'9 at least.

Meanwhile I'm an inch away from being 5'4. I wish that would've been my height. More of us that are really on the short side would happily trade places with her. She was already 5ft at the age of 10; that's above average already even for that age. Yet she keeps complaining. She has complained to me like 3 times about it. Whenever someone tells her she has a good height, she always says ''I guess, it's just 5'7''. Is that even slightly short for a woman like she keeps saying?

That’s tall for women in the US. The average height for women is 5’4”. The average height for a man is 5’10”. Though these averages vary from region to region. There are a lot of Asian and Latin people in California. I’ve walked down streets where i felt like a giant at 6’0”. No joke. Tiny people all around me. It used to make me laugh, but i grew accustomed to it.

Exactly. She should be happy about it. Even in Netherlands, she would be exactly on the 50% percentile. In every other countries, she's already like 80-85% taller than all the other women.

5'7" is definitely above average for women. "Tall" is an arbitrary description that everyone might give you a different number for, and it's a particularly universal definition. But it's safe to just say it's above average.
