I've only had to pee in pants once during a New Orleans Mardi Gras when I was in my 20s. So that emergency peeing thing, just isn't much of a concern. i'm 70 now! I live in board shorts and Ts unless I've got to dress up for an event. Don't have to wrrry about how I sit or leg shaving or hose... and I have exceptionally shapely legs... always have had.

Dresses and skirts are more femmy and for some workplaces, you might have to to fit in. Did so when I worked as a copy editor at a major newspaper. NOt a lesbian, but I like the uniform because it's casual and easy and I like pockets in my pants.

So my take is that the women who choose to do so want to look and feel more femmy, because in general 98% of men do not wear utilikilts or other skirtish gear. or dresses, which in general do not have pockets and in that way, to me, are inconvenient...

But the dress wearers rely on purses, another fem touch, but that all adds up... So, I expect it's the feminine display aspect... or workplace practice..
