Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yThere are 2 types of women. The honest women and the liars.
The honest women will tell you that they want a man with money.
The liars will tell you that they want a man with "ambition" to disguise the fact that they want a man with money.
When we all know that ambition=a constant stream of money.
So women will tell you until they are blue in the face that they would rather marry an ambitious man than a rich one. Which is their brains backwards rationalizing the fact that they ALL want money.
Because when you boil it down, they want a man with a constant stream of money, (due to ambitious business deals) RATHER than having a man with zero ambition and a TON of cash because he could lose all that money one day.
So next time a woman says she doesn't care about money. What she really means is this:
shes the liar that wants "ambition" which really means she wants an INFINITE stream of cash rather than a ton of money.
Or you could date the other half of women blatantly tell you what they want and say stuff like "i want to be taken care of"
Rather than just beating around the bush and playing bullsh*t lying games, and even sometimes sugar coating everything wrapping everything in the word "Ambition".
Which do you think is being more honest? The gold digger who tells you that she wants money, or the woman who lies about wanting money?
You pick which one.410 Reply- +1 y
Well they aren't necessarily lying.. when they say ambition is a good trait that means he doesn't have to be rich now, but has a goal of being rich in the future. Women see men as an investment in their own future. They are willing to suffer for a certain amount of time if they think they will be rewarded in the end.
As for men, our reward is instant, cause of sex.
Opinion Owner+1 y"when they say ambition is a good trait that means he doesn't have to be rich now, but has a goal of being rich in the future"
I think I said that.
Its obviously better to get a man with the ability to get money in the future who is poor, than a man who is rich who doesn't have that ability.
Why? because a man who doesn't have ambition is more likely to lose it all. Lose all the "MONEY"
Opinion Owner+1 y"So you are generalizing the most beautiful creatures on the planet into 2 categories. And you sound rather cynical?"
You mean how women do the same with men when they call them either bad boys or nice guys?
Yeah that's what I'm doing too.
- +1 y
Most women are not looking for a rich man. However, if a woman wants to have children in the future, she will be looking for a man who shows he can be financially responsible for them and their family. Sure, plenty of women work that have kids, but it can really hinder a career woman to have several pregnancies and childcare issues. Either hubby or wifey need to have a flexible job that makes it easy to take time off when the child is sick, needs you to meet with their teacher, etc.
- +1 y
As an executive I know without a doubt that there is a big mommy penalty and men in my same position in other companies are expected to travel, work long hours and never mention they need time off for the kids. They tend to have stay-at-home wives who handle 90% of the kid stuff. Also, women who are financially successful have a more restricted dating pool because some men cannot handle their woman making more $$ than them. I definitely ran into that when dating.
- +1 y
So society puts pressure on men to perpetuate the need for women to expect them to be financially strong. A lot of men and women don't fall into this category, most families require both parents to work, but often the wife is the one who has to have the job where she can be flaky and take time off for sick kids.
Opinion Owner+1 y:Most women are not looking for a rich man. However, if a woman wants to have children in the future, she will be looking for a man who shows he can be financially responsible for them and their family. "
Youre absolutely right. And like I said, a woman will not date a rich man, rather she will date a man with "ambition" so that he can STAY rich and have the possibility of having a constant stream of cash, rather than worry about the rich man losing it all.
Opinion Owner+1 y"ff. Also, women who are financially successful have a more restricted dating pool because some men cannot handle their woman making more $$ than them. I definitely ran into that when dating."
Theres another problem too. There have been studies on women who make a lot of money and they found that the majority of them want a man who makes at least 3 times as much as they do, or they lose interest in the man. So the more the woman makes the more the man has to make in order to be attractive.

The kind that do, whether subtly or overtly, are pretty easy to spot. They're not worth the time so if you stick with those worth it then you'll be fine.
Like the ladies I work with are always gushing over other women's rings that walk into the office here, get irritated when they surf the web and see nice houses they don't have, etc.22 Reply- +1 y

+1 ySome women care about money, but I can honestly say that I really don't. My boyfriend and me get a decent ammount of money, it's not loads but we can manage comfortably. When we first moved in together I had lost my job and didn't find a new one for a few months, my boyfriend worked for very little money and we barely got by. Our bills were paid and we always had food but we never had the money for dates out, petrol for his car, treats for ourself or anything. I remember once not even having some spare change for a loaf of bread! Every penny was counted for. A trip to McDonalds was the highlight of our week if we could even afford that! Now with us both working it's much easier. It of course takes the stress off things, and it's brilliant to be able to do nice things together and get new things when we want, but I don't love him any more than I did when we first got together. If I cared about money at first we wouldn't of been together. This month he didn't get paid very much so I gave him money for petrol, I'm paying for his drinks this weekend on a night out with our friends and tonight I'm paying for us to go out for his mum's birthday, it's all about give and take, when I lost my job he supported me for months. Some people care and some don't. I always say as long as I have him, health, a roof over our head and food, I couldn't ask for more.

I think a lot of guys assume that if a woman cares about money, that she is hoping to land a guy who will take her on lavish dates, buy her lots of things, take her on wild vacations, etc. While these women DO exist, that's not what most women like about it. In fact, most women aren't even thinking about what they will benefit materially from a man having money. It's simply his ability to support himself, that he is comfortable, that he's not in debt, that he won't need to mooch any of her own money, that he could take care of an extra person (a child) if need be.
Because of this, I find that as women get older they care more and more about the money a man makes. He doesn't have to be a millionaire, but he usually has to make as much as she does. It's hard for men to understand this as they are usually perfectly fine dating a woman who makes less than him, so I try to compare this to the looks factor. Men typically want a woman as hot or hotter than he is, while a woman is much more likely to date a guy less attractive. Looks and money are both superficial, and trying to explain why you want a girl as hot or hotter will still come across as superficial as a woman trying to explain why she wants a guy as rich or richer. We all give on some and stand strong on others. It all balances out in the end.11 Reply
There is something to be said for the appeal of social status and being well-off. But, given the choice between being unhappy in a relationship but living in a mansion and being happy in a relationship and living in a little house. Obviously, not everyone feels the same way, but there are people out there who value other things above income.
For me, excess money isn't a huge deal. If I'm going to be living with a guy, sure, he needs to be able to help with the bills. Howerver, after the divorces my mom went through and how much trouble she had getting away, I will never, ever be dependant upon a spouse. To give some background, part of my family is very well-to-do, but we don't live like it for a reason.
If you're not being a mooch or a bum, you're okay. Things are hard right now, and it will be a while before it gets better. If she's too obsessed with money, that isn't a woman.
Also, keep in mind that part of being compatible in a relationship involves finances. Working well together is important on many levels and in many areas of life. I wish you luck in your romantic and career pursuits.20 Reply

+1 yIve been weathly and I've been really poor in my life time and personally I refuse to be poor again. I will work my ass off to get the finer things in life and don't have a problem working hard to get nice things. I don't expect my partner to be rich and buy me things as long as you have a job or are in the process of getting a job and have one lined up then I'm happy. I will not support my partners ass tho, that's the one thing I refuse to do . if we go out yes I love when a guy treats me but I have no problem in paying for my half . But if we live together I expect my parther to pull his own weight in the bills and all . But I refuse to shop at places like good will or walmart. I am not being snobby but I have been their wear I had to wear clothes from them and I would rather take my money if I can't afford super nice things and just go to sales. Like abercrombie has really good sales to wear I can get a 80 dollar hoodie for like 25 on clearance and I would rather search abercrombie clearance racks than pay full price at wallmart. I've learned that if you go to higher end stores and check their clearance racks it's better than paying full price at cheeper stores.

+1 yIt honestly depends on the girl and where she comes from. I think that has a lot to do with it. I know for a fact that there are some girls who really care about money A LOT. Some of them come from homes where they didn't have a lot of money, their parents couldn't provide a lot of extra things. Others may be used to getting spoiled and they expect and want that to continue when they get in a relationship. Some girls just have serious power issues and getting the power over a guy to make him want to spend all this money feels good to them.
Speaking for myself, I really don't care. I have dated a guy who was a college athlete and broke. Working very hard to make it to the top so that he could have plenty of money one day. It didn't bother me. Before him I had dated an extremely rich guy but his money never made a difference. I never let him buy me ANYTHING. It got to a point where he would just surprise me with food or something. Then again, I grew up in a household where I always had everything I needed and extra. My parents raised me to be very ambitious and I work hard for my own money. I don't like the idea of depending and waiting on some guy to give me money. Also morally, it wouldn't feel right because then I would feel compelled to pay him back by being into him and you can't guarantee that.14 Reply- +1 y
However I am only 19. I'm very young. When I get older and I'm looking for a husband; a future father to my children, my life partner as well as my business partner; money will become a factor. You need money to survive. I don't want my children to have to go without and I don't want to have to struggle for the rest of my life to provide for them and even just provide for myself. Money isn't top priority when finding a husband, but when I think of all the bills I'll have once I create a family
- +1 y
I'll need a husband who can step it up financially and pull his weight. I want at least three children and it's so important for me to make sure they have everything they need and more financially. I don't want to face stress trying to do that. So, money doesn't mean sh*t to me now, but it will be siginificant about 10 years from now when I'm looking for a husband and we have to combine our incomes to figure out how we're going to survive
- +1 y
I don't know when I'll start looking for a husband. For now, I just want to enjoy my youth and live my life without the stress and heavy duty of serious relationships. I imagine my future husband will just be a boyfriend that I get serious later down the line. Marriage is a huge deal and I'm not rushing into it.
dx021, you talk about it as if girls don't put in money they've earned either
like everyone is saying, it depends on the girl. I honestly don't give a crap about money as long as the guy has ambition to do things. As long as he isn't a lazy bum there is no issue for me. Other girls are very materialistic and want to be well set up later in life, mostly so they don't have to work. So really it depends on what kind of girl you get. I would recommend going for an independent girl that isn't clingy, because generally the more clingy, the more they expect you to provide for them.

+1 yto an extent yes. but I'm much more worried about his efforts than I am about how much he actually makes. if he sits on his butt all day doing nothing or didn't feel like going to college so he has a crappy job as a cashier at a grocery store or something then it matters because it shows he is lazy and didn't try. if he had other reasons for not going to college though, we would see and it would depend. money is nice but it isn't a huge deal. I would never be with someone just because they're rich. some girls don't care, some pretend not to care, and some very blatantly care. it just depends on the girl. you will be able to tell if she's with you for your money though.

+1 yAll girls say they don't care, and most guys say they do. A guy's observation is usually right over a girl's opinion of how they choose guys. The saying don't believe what a woman says, but observe her actions exist. But of course, that's not always true because sometimes guys say negative things about women just because those guys feel insecure.
I just know that bad boys who are loaded get the most girls.40 Reply
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yWomen vary so much on the subject and it depends on the type of woman you are attracted to as well. I don't care about it. Don't get me wrong, I love money but I am capable of earning my own and I can earn as much or as little as I want. If I like a guy then that is what matters. Unfortunately there are some women out there that give us a bad name and make us all look like high priced prostitutes. Don't let that discourage you, you will find someone who is not like that and is into you as much as you are into her.

Opinion Owner+1 yWomen in your age group also have a lot of life experience and know what is important and what isn't so that works in your favour unless you are trying to date women much younger 10+ years. If that is the case then be prepared to get shot down because you don't have much money.

Women, whether they like to admit it or not, are attracted to men with high status. Unfortunately, one of the key indicators of status is money. Not saying it's impossible without money, but if you want to improve your chances with women, work on improving your wealth.
30 ReplyI read somewhere that said. When women marries for the first time, it is for love. Second time for money. When I met my husband, he had $2k in his accound. We noun own a million dollar home. You have look at things deeper. Oh and I grew up with so little that I had no shoes to wear. So what xan you say about women. It is too generalized . Take time to get to know her and know what you want.
20 ReplyI expect him to be able to help me with bills and dates. I expect him to have whatever little but of money I need for groceries or home supplies. Other than that I do not need fancy sh*t. I only require that we be able to work together financially. Note WORK together.

+1 ywell, money is important. But it doesn't mean you have to be bill gates to get a girl. you just need to be working and earning decent enough to support yourself. and if the girl really has a good career of her own then your pay won't be of that importance

+1 yTypically I want a guy to take care of himself and be able to continue after a relationship starts. Idont much care about money as long a the bills are paid though and I keep mine to a minimum so I probably fall in the minority. I think its very dependent on the individual and their expectations.
10 Reply389 opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. I think overall motivation is a bigger factor than the amount of money. If you have a job and are trying to be the best you can be then most women won't care.
My boyfriend lives at home and makes something like $11/hour. It doesn't matter to me because he has long-term goals that will make him happier.00 Reply
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yIt's not about the amount of money you have. It's more whether or not you have a job and can procure money. Honestly, unless he was in college, I wouldn't date a man who didn't have a job. I don't let myself go jobless even in college, so I have the same expectation for the guy. I wouldn't allow myself to be completely dependent on another person, and I don't expect him to either.
10 Reply470 opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. A lot pretend not to, most do in same way or another.
You don't have to be loaded in order to attract girls, but it'll be hard for a jobless guy to keep a girl interested, especially early on in a relationship.40 Reply
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yWomen don't care any more about money than men do. Seriously. A sane person wants the person they date to be able to at least support themselves, but "status"? I guess if you only pay attention to characters in TV show, you might get jaded.
Maybe I've just gotten lucky by NEVER meeting a girl who considers money to be a deal breaker. There are way more important things to be picky about if you're actually looking for love and not just stability or gifts.10 Reply
+1 yMore then you think. Women are not gonna admit their after money. They will give some BS excuse that they love him for him, which in fact its all lies. Any women here or in person tells you money does not mean much are full of self denial. I'm 26 and could spot a gold digger a mile away. Like us, they also have plans - do this, buy that, etc - in both long and short term. Now there are some who do suppress these plans when the situation demands - but they don't want to go or in such situation in first place. Usually they get less opportunities to get out of it compared to us men.
