If a girl says she already has plans how do you know if she is for real or not?

I just want to now if she is being honest or just saying that I don't know if she likes me or not.

If she says it once- she might legitimately have plans, if she is ALWAYS busy then she may just be trying to let you down easy.

Here's the thing though- I liked this guy for awhile and he would ask me to come hang out at the last minute (10:30 on a Friday night or 9pm on a Thursday) and I often WOULD have plans or just not feel like going out at that point. I said no a few times, which may have discouraged him since things didn't work out. He never asked me far enough in advance that I didn't have plans and I could never quite make things work to hang with him at the last minute.

Basic guidelines for you situation- ask her if she has plans for Friday on like Wednesday night, if she says no more than twice in a row she's probably not interested. Wednesday is plenty of time for her to re-arrange plans so she can hang with you. If I really like a guy, I know I'll do that unless it's something super important (friend's birthday, family obligation etc.).
