How come girls never smile at me when I catch them looking?

I always hear about how if a girl gets caught staring at a guy she'll kind of smile slightly and then look down at the ground. I don't know if you're waiting for me to smile first, but sometimes I'll look up or I'll turn around and I'll notice a girl looking at me and I'll kind of just hold eye contact with her. How come you never smile? I guess I need to smile first but you guys never change your facial expression it's just a normal facial expression when we make eye contact, well more like a curious expression. So do I need to sort of smile a little bit like right before I break eye contact and see if you return the favor?

i'm assuming if they're aren't interested then they will probably just look away without smiling at all right?

My guy friends have always told me to smile too if I find a guy attractive, that way he won't feel I'm killing him with my look. (Since I barely smile.)

Yeah with me you'd have to smile a little bit just so I know you're interested, most guys just stare and stare like idiots so I look away.

I think their is a difference between staring and locking eyes though. You can tell if a guy is staring cause he won't look away and you'll see his eyes darting around.

yes you do need to smile first. when she knows she's been caught staring at you her first reaction will be sh*t he saw me not oh he's looking so ill smile. that's what I do with the guy I like unless he smiles before the eye contact ends, then I will smile back. she's not sure if you like her.

Personally, I don't smile because I don't want to be caught looking at the guy! I try to do it without him noticing. Every time I have looked at a guy and he looks back, he tends not to smile. If he did smile, it would be a nice feeling to know he is friendly and I'd smile back then!
