It makes me feel like she trusts me and feels safe.

Usually girls might talk about those things, but this speaks louder.

I don't know if it makes me needy, but if a girl doesn't trust me, or feel safe when she's with me, I don't even want to talk to her. Is that a need for reinforcement, or the foundation for a protective environment? I dunno.

I think it's endearing.

Once on a flight, the girl next to me

put her arm through mine,

leaned her head on my shoulder,

and fell asleep.

I had no idea who she was.

But I was happy, spending the rest of the flight

imagining us as an old couple,

who met on a plane.

lucky schmuck... my plane rides are always so uncomfortable and agonizing, but if I had that happen to me I'd feel so much more calm and relaxed, in a silent trance of bliss, just feeling her soft cheek on my shoulder and smiling to myself. I wouldn't do anything to disturb her or bother her.
