Do guys like it when girls remember small things about them?

When talking to someone guy or a girl I tend to pick up and remember small things they say they like and dislike or even things they like to do. There is this guy I met a few weeks ago and he doesn't seem, as far as I know, to pick up on things like that, and it made me feel kind of weird bringing up something he told me he liked in our first few days of meeting, and he didn't remember. And I couldn't tell if he was surprised that I remembered or creeped out that I remembered something so small.

I'm afraid to say though that if the guy is really absent minded (like he forgets things he told you very quickly), that's not the best sign.

Everyone forgets some things, especially if they have a lot of things in their life, but it's a matter of degree that is important.

Like...when you remember something he forgot, does he act surprised and try to remember what he said, or does he just act plain clueless like whatever? See, if I'm a guy who likes a girl, and she's remembering stuff that I said that I don't even remember, I'm the one who is going to feel silly (unless I think she's making it up).

But if I'm a guy who seems to have constant amnesia about what we talked about, it means one of the following:

1. I'm a pothead or I drink too much to have a clear memory of anything.

2. I don't really care about the impression I'm making on you, and thus not paying attention to what I tell you. That probably means I'm not very interested in you to begin with.

3. I might be a player who just makes stuff up on the spot, and thus can't keep track of the stories he's telling, or who he's said what to.

4. I'm only pretending not to remember. But why?

I'm not saying to be paranoid, because people forget things for many reasons. They might be distracted, or nervous, or just having such a good time that everything in their mind blurred together. But consistent memory lapses are something to be suspicious of, if the guy always seems to forget more than you.

Thanks for sharing those different possibilities. After telling him he just kind went "oh" after I reminded him he told me this, then he just laughed it off.

Doesn't sound like any big deal then. I guess my whole point is there there's nothing weird about you remembering details, and if he acts like there is, he has the problem not you.

I could see how it would be to a girl because it means he was listening and cared about what you were saying.

Yes. You are probably similar to me. I like a person that can appreciate the little things I do and won't take me for granted either.
