How does Hindi sound to you?

Some languages sound harsh and some seem to flow with a lot of ease. I just wanted to know how Hindi, (from India) sounds to people who do not speak the language? Do you have friends who speak it perhaps? How would you describe it? I'm working on a short story and would greatly appreciate the input :)

I have a friend from India and I think it's cool when she speaks Hindi. At first it took me by surprise and it did sound like it didn't flow. To me it sounded kind of broken but not like they were pauses if that makes sense.

I had an Indian friend who spoke Hindu to his mother whenever I came over to visit (As impolite as that is :P)

It always sounded like they were saying one long word rather than multiple ones if you know what I mean xD

Initially I liked the sound of it. But these days I find it funny and irritating sometimes.
