Why does my boyfriend call me mushy all of the time?

We've been together for 11 months and during the beginning of our relationship my boyfriend would always send me these sweet messages and I would also do that. But, lately I'm the only one who says sweet things to him and he just says I'm being mushy. What's going on?

Maybe he's reached a place in your relationship that's different from where you are. All these mushy texts are usually indicative of the honeymoon phase--though they do still exist when that phase is over.

It could be he isn't feeling the initial excitement of your relationship anymore. This isn't necessarily bad. He could be less openly affectionate with you but still love you just as much as he used to. You could be reaching a steadier, though less exciting, point in your relationship where you're very comfortable with each other and don't find the need to express your love that often anymore.

Next time he tells you you're being mushy you can remind him that he used to send you sweet messages a lot. He might give you some clues as to why he doesn't feel the need to send them so much anymore.
