Guys: when you're voice is "soft"?

The other day on lunch break I went to the coffee cart to grab some coffee. My crush and friend were there and his friend started talking to me. Eventually it lead to him saying I was awesome.

At that point my crush hadn't really said anything..Then suddenly he was like "Yeah she is, Jazzi is so awesome"..but it was different then how his friend said it cause his voice got all quiet and "soft"-I don't know quite how to explain it. And he kinda looked down as he said it almost like he was embarrassed.

Why was he so quiet with him comment? I noticed a lot of times if he's talking to me with someone else around his voice goes all soft almost as if he only wants me to hear or like he's shy or something. Tbh he hardly ever talks to me, even though he's always joking with other people...But he does constantly look out for me and ask if I need help and there's something in his mannerisms with me that's different..almost "Softer" if that makes sense.

I do this a lot... if I like a girl.. my voice gets low and soft.. because you get NERVOUS... I mean when you've been nervous hasn't your voice fallen low too?

His body language to me seems like he is attracted towards you, but he doesn't know how to react or show it.

I did this so many times when I was too nervous and shy to ask a girl out. I just couldn't talk to her because I thought I'd say something stupid to turn her off or have her hate me.

I wish I could tell the guy to get some balls and have him go up to you and tell you he likes you and wants to hang out with you sometime

I would think he has a thing towards you. However its possible that he's also trying to keep his cool around people because he doesn't seem like the guy that wants people say "you two seem like a nice couple".

Its likely its because his insecurities is what's causing him to have a "soft" voice around you when there's people.

Solution is to just build up your friendship with him and he'll hopefully work on his mannerisms around you where he'll be able to feel more comfortable to not talk "soft" as much. (maybe)

So by soft do you mean like he sort of whispers or that's just how he talks in general.

Yeah he is attracted to you but look for other signs.
