What does it mean if my guy friend fell asleep on my shoulder and my lap?

We were on a bus home from Washington D.C. and he fell asleep on my shoulder. A couple times he woke up just to readjust his head on my shoulder. Later he even fell asleep with his head on my lap and his upper body against me. A couple times we made awkward eye contact. Sometimes I would catch him looking at me when I opened my eyes. He had been having back and neck pain, and when he woke up he was crying from all the pain. I stayed up with him and got our teacher to help. Later he thanked me quietly and awkwardly. He is a really good friend, and we have a lot in common and hang out a lot, but I don't really 'like' him. He recently broke up with his girlfriend, but he is completely fine. He's not bothered at all, because he wasn't ready for the relationship anyway and didn't really love her. Does he like me?

I seems like some of the awkwardness that he has been showing is because he likes you and doesnot want to risk a friendship- but it could also be that he is confused, not knowing exactly how he feels about you.

he obviously, trusts you and values you. It is entirely possible that he is confused because he doesnot understand his own feeling about you yet- thus the awkwardness.

So, essentially he might like you- he might not.

He may like you but may not. What it does mean for sure is that he trust you and is comfortable around you. Did this once when I was younger. Didn't like the girl as a girl but trusted her and since I was really tired slept in her lap after falling asleep on her shoulder.
