Guys will usually say "nice personality" in someone whom they like already. If she's hot but straight up nasty personality, she'd still be nice "once she gets to know you" or "nice but selective". Basically personality equals face plus boobs or ass. Because if the chick is ugly, no amount of personality will make her more desirable and many ugly chicks have nicer personalities than hot chicks - yet I don't need to tell you whom the majority of guys (who always say they love personality) will hang around more.

As people age and relationships actually begin to matter with you as a human being and not just being nice to you to get some action (i. e. you just being a "starter pussy" or "pre-college pussy" or "college pussy" or "I'm just getting established after college pussy"), I think personality begins to matter more because in a long term relationship men will prefer someone who doesn't drive them up the wall no matter how hot she is.

While changing your face and body takes a few days, changing who you are may take a life time. I'm not apologizing. I'm not going to give her false hope. It's better she knows now then if she spends the rest of her life being rejected. Everyone knows the face is more important than anything else. Besides she asked me why she couldn't get dates so I told her the truth. I didn't just randomly tell her.
