What does it mean when a guy gives you his favorite tshirt?

I was at the guy I likes dorm this weekend and he gave me one of his t-shirts to wear. He told me it's his favorite shirt and how he likes how it has his last name on the back of it and said he wants me to keep it. Would a guy do this if he didn't like you or only wanted to hook up with you?

I would take it as a sign that he likes you. You mentioned his name is on the back, maybe he wants other guys to see it and know you're taken. I find it cute, that he would give you his FAVORITE shirt. I don't think he would just give anyone his favorite shirt.
