Do women really like seeing a mans soft side or was my friend just being nice?

I have been pretty down recently and my friend noticed and my friended wanted to hang out with me for a day. I never really open up to people but for some reason I did here and I ended up crying in her presence when we went to her house. She kept rubbing my upper arm and put her arms around me and told me she liked seeing me serious and opening up then said she thinks its cute. I was taken off guard and laughed it odd but i felt so weak at the same time.

I personally love it because than I feel like you really trust me and it's nice to see guys with their guard down and than we can be the one they lean on. and it makes for a stronger bond.

It's for that reason that girls like seeing a guys soft side because we know if you could honestly help it you probably wouldn't but you trust us enough to do that it or at least there is a part of you that needs us... girls like to feel needed too and even sister-brother thing it creates a deeper bond.
