I twisted my ankle and my boyfriend reacted like this? Is this a normal reaction? Please help?

My boyfriend, his best friend, and I were walking and I tripped and twisted my ankle. My boyfriend chucked and asked if I was okay but didn't move at all to help me. When I couldn't get up because of my ankle he didn't even try to help me but his best friend (close friend of mine too) swooped me up and walked quickly into my place. He wrapped my ankle, iced it, and did all of the usual checks. The whole time my boyfriend was rolling his eyes and telling him that he was overreacting and that I was fine. The friend got mad at him for not caring enough for me but was my boyfriend's reaction normal?

My boyfriend freaks out with concern when I bump my hip on a table, I wouldn't want to see him if I twisted my ankle... I personally don't think how he reacted was normal. Every guy I've been around has always shown major concern for me when I get hurt (which is weird because I'm a total klutz and get hurt 24/7 and they should be used to it by now). I would talk to him about it. Some people are more oblivious than others. Maybe he didn't really register that it was as bad as it really was.

I think maybe he didn't realize that your ankle really hurt as badly as it did. I'm the first person to laugh at someone when they fall down. hell, half the time I'm the one who tripped and fell. I think he didn't react ideally, but I just think he didn't mean to be that insensitive.

I couldn't stand up and it was already starting to bruise when we got into the house...

I still think he may have just thought it really didn't hurt that bad. Trust me, I can be insensitive on occasion and will get irritated with someone when I think they're over reacting to being hurt. I think he could have acted nicer, but I think he was just being slightly insensitive.

Well it was bruised and swollen when he was still rolling his eyes and telling our friend that he was overreacting. It was not a pretty sight and looked/looks pretty bad.

I'm just telling you what I think. I think he just thinks that you are overreacting and it shouldn't hurt that bad. just tell him to knock it off, and that it does really hurt

Not a normal reaction at all, I would say from someone who hopefully Claims to care about you! I'd confront him about that.

You got the wrong boyfriend , if i had girlfriend who got hurt/ took ill right away i am checking
to see if she is alright. Your boyfriend sounds like he is selfish, self consuming guy

Eh, if it was a really bad fall, then he probably shouldn't laugh, but, if it was just a simple fall, you gotta learn to laugh at yourself, shake it off, get back up

No. I have a high pain tolerance and don't usually make a big deal out of things like that.

Well I haven't seen him so I wouldn't know. But he seems like the better guy.

Most guys I know usually show concern whenever I've hurt myself, and helped me. I think that's the normal behaviour for a guy.

He just an overall sweetheart and cares for me like a sister in my opinion. Brings me soup when I'm sick and buys me tampons if my boyfriend won't 😂

But he is just being a good friend. I take care of my friends when they are sick and if they need something I will get it for them.

I guess he could... You may find this terrible of me but sometimes I can't sleep and my boyfriend won't answer the phone but this guy will and just stays on the phone with me until I fall asleep. It helps me sleep and he doesn't seem to mind.

Yeah that is sounding more and more like he has a thing for you and sounds like he is the emotional support that yoi atent getting feom your boyfriend. You should think about how both of them make you feel and maybe take a shot with the friend if you feel chemistry with him. He's probably not letting on how he feels as he respects that you are with his friend.

My boyfriend doesn't treat me badly he just isn't a romantic or nurturing kind of guy. With the friend I feel really safe and that I could do anything and he would still accept me. I do kinda call on him for anything I need and he is always there right away. He is just a good guy. Even if I liked him I couldn't break up my boyfriend to be with his best friend...

I guess you have to work out what is important to you in a relationship but it is not fair if one guy is offering you all this support but he doesn't get to enjoy the benefits of being in a relationship. He's probably posting on GaG as we speak asking why nice guys never get the girl and why they stay with jerks...
If you are happy with the non-romantic and non-nuturing type that is fine but dont use his best friend to substitute what you aren't getting from him as it is not fair to the friend.
If you want a more attentive type then break up with your boyfriend and find the right guy.

I was actually planning on breaking up with my boyfriend but if I do that I will probably lose contact with his friend which I don't want. I do kinda like him and I guess I kinda stringing him along but I don't know what to do...

Well I think you just got to sort your relationship out first - you can't be stuck with a giy you dont want to be with just because you like his friend. It is a risk you will lose the friend too but you can't keep stringing him along. My guess is that the friend will keep in contact (he knows his friend is being a jerk so he probably won't be angrybwith you for hurting his friend) and may even eventually make his move. But even if he doesn't and you lose him, well he's not really yours now either.

Well it is your decision... how would you feel if the friend gets a girlfriend and suddenly has a lot less time to help you out?
The thing is, you need to be with a guy who will take care of you - if you dont think your boyfriend is doing a good job at this then you deserve better. And if the friend is such a good friend to you then he will still be your friend after you break up.
