What does it mean if a guy calls you mama?

So I was in a store today and I was trying to get around to the check out counter and this guy and his friend were walking up at the same time and he was like, "go ahead mama". Lol I've never been called that before so help a girl out, what did he mean by "mama"? I'm a short and medium sized girl, blonde, and I'm at the end of my teens... he couldnt have been older than 23 and Im SURE he had to be younger than that even. And he was taller and black.(if that's even a fact worth adding.) Just to add to the picture here. I don't know, what do ya think?

Just a polite gesture is all that he was thinking and i guess an awkward compliment if your into wanting to be a mom.

Some guys tell that's a girls if they think that they are very attractive so you can take it as a compliment
