It's a subtle form of emotional/psychological manipulation. They leave something there so they have a social excuse to come back, or so that you think about them when you see it

I suppose they could, however, I have forgotten things by accident, and DID NOT want to go back for them, haha. I wouldn't look too much into it, but if it keeps happening, then yes, it may be a way for him to come back.

I suspected he did it on purpose because he's been flirting with me for a while. And he was actually the one who gave the idea of them (him and some friends of us) coming to my place. And when I opened the wallet to see whose wallet it was, there were no important documents there. He needed his driving licence to drive back home. So I guess he took out the important stuff before leaving it here? But he doesn't really need an excuse to see me again cause we're all getting together tomorrow... I texted him to tell him and he replied "Nooo!! Really? Did the others leave already?" With a smiley face. He was trying to make small I guess...

I wasn't aware he left an empty wallet, that's actually pretty funny. My guess is he was/is unsure how you feel about him, and he's testing the waters.

It's hard to say this but he does this because he still has feelings for her. why else would he leave it in a "friends" place? To spend time with her when you're not there. it would make more sense if you think about it.
