Is using someone's name a lot in conversation a sign of flirting/attraction?

I am getting closer with a guy at work. I really like him. I'm pretty sure he feels the same way. However I do value our growing friendship.

Recently he started to insert my name when greeting me or just before parting ways. "Hey Sarah.." "Alright Sarah"

He has never done this before and it has me curious. Has anyone experienced this where there is an abrupt change in the way he or she talks to you?

It's a tactic people use to assert dominance. Or he's just trying to remember your name through repetition.

Thanks for replying. I read that too which has me a bit worried.

He knows my name first and last because he is in a way one of the people I report to kinda.

As I said on the other comment this started after I got a new assignment and this guy I worked with gave me several compliments on my work ethic through him. So it may be a way of him trying to form a bond separate from him.

Using someone's name establishes a connection, so yeah, he's probably doing it on purpose

Thanks for replying. I read on the Internet that it could be an attempt to get my attention and form a bond at best.

I did start working with a guy on a project and he gave me several compliments through him. That's when it started. Maybe it's his attempt to secure a bond with me because I'm working with the other guy.
