Black ladies into white guys?

I am a black woman and I am dating a white man. I have had flings with white guys before, but nothing like this. This is an actual relationship and I have to say, there are aspects of it that are vastly different from what I am used to with black and hispanic/latino men.
What I like about my current boyfriend is his ability to let his guard down. Black and hispanic men I have found are really forced into hard, rigid gender roles and are pressured to be uber-masculine and "hard" all the time. That is not an affront to them, I believe its cultural. My white boyfriend now is not that way at all. He is definitely a man and he makes sure I feel like a lady, but there is something a lot more open about him. He was immediately willing to share his life with me. I didn't have to break down walls to find out who he was.
I am not dating my boyfriend because he is white though. I am dating him because I like him. He is all the things I look for in a man so race doesn't even really register to me. BUT I do know black women who actively seek out white men ONLY. Many of them because they have had negative experiences with black men (which I think is a stupid reason to swear off an entire race of people, but that it just me) and others because they are trying to find something new.
I think many black women are attracted to white men, but they think that white men aren't going to be interested in them, so they don't really explore the option. The assumption is that white men like waify white women and that there is no way they would look at a black woman seriously... maybe for some "nookie"... but not for a relationship... This is untrue, but that is often the perception.
Long story short, black women are definitely attracted to white men...
I am a black girl and I have been seeing a white guy for a year now. I am absolutely crazy about this guy. He knows just what to say and just what to do. And ladies let me tell ya; he sure knows how to handle this body ;). I have always been attracted to white guys but didn't know how to approach them. He actually approached me which was perfect. Now that I have finally experience intimacy with a white guy, I don't know if I can go back in the other direction. No offense to black guys but I'm loving the "attention to detail" that my sexy ass white boy gives me> Mmm mmm gud! If I were to compare my experience with white guys vs black guys I would say that in my relationship with a black guy, I was treated like a well, got anything that I wanted, but when it came to sensitivity; my black guy was too hard for that. My white guy treats me well, gets me what I want and is very sensitive to everything. I love that! Although he is sensitive, he knows when to be masculine ;) And it's not all about the sex. He is great to talk to or just cuddle with.
i'm not going to lie, but I do prefer white guys over black guys. I have no clue why this is; it's just the way I am. my first crush was on a white boy when I was 6 and I remember it so well. I had told my family and my cousins teased me because he's white. I didn't care tho.
when I got into middle school I felt bad about having a preference; like I was betraying my race as people put it, but later on I realized that ...the heart wants, what the heart wants. I couldn't help who I liked.
so now I could care less about what people think. my mom just wants me to be safe and happy and my dad would prefer someone who looks like him ( he's from africa) but as long as he treats me right he's ok with a guy of a diff race.
my sister is pretty much the same, except she's got a thing for asian guys
I know this question was aimed at the ladies, but I have always been attracted to black women. I really don't have a preference but I think you tend to go with what you are used to in life. I have always communicated well with people in general but have always had a unique connection with African American ladies. As long as two people like, love, and treat each other right, everything should work out nicely! ;)
I can't tell you what it's like for a black woman to date a white guy and the difference between dating black and white men, what I can tell you is that more and more black women are dating white men. I have come across a few who only date white men exclusively and my aunt is one of them.

I really enjoyed reading your thoughts. Thank you. I am engaged to an Iviorian 20 years younger than me. She is blessed with my definition of a perfect figure (bust>hips), and I could not be happier. Even learning French! The differences I find are her - I want to say - "inability" to believe my words and she herself often says things she will do but with no intention to fulfil them. It's not a lack of integrity per se. She is as loyal as can be and will fight any of her girlfriends if they dared got anywhere near me. Which always makes me chuckle because I am as monogamous as they come. I feel it could be that opportunist Iviorian males have lied to her all her life because she has admitted she would never have married a black man. Ever. The other thing is she insists on me having a belly. I am not allowed to diet and exercise simultaneously. It's one or the other or she gets upset at me. How cute is that? After experiencing the love of a West African woman, my first ever black woman, I am so happy in life and I am so happy to see you are too.
I do I like white men. I just don't think they are interested in black women, like that it is just one sided. I really want to date outside of my race, I only dated AA men and I always got hurt in the end, and not that I am implying that all AA men are like that, but I just want to switch it up and try something different. I don't know why but I have a huge crush on white men. I physically attracted to them and just easier to talk to, not all of them but most of them I find them easier to get to know.
I think a big difference between white men and AA men are that AA men are more forward. I would approach a WM, but I am scared I am not their type.
Just try not to think about race.
@EngineeringStudent I guess your right, but I am just so fascinated about different cultures.
@G-Daz it is just hard to tell for real. What do you mean African featured ones that is weird?
I would try to put some of this fear aside and go ahead and approach, speaking for myself I would be flattered and would welcome the approach, and even though I'm presently married if I were approached I would be gracious enough to not make the lady approaching me feel bad or even embarrassed, rather I would try to at the very least befriend her and provide her with some insight on different approaches. :-)
I'm generally more attracted to white guys than black guys so I date white guys. I've never dated a black guy before so I just think I haven't seen one I'm attracted to yet. But I don't rule out any other cute guy that comes my way based on his race.
I do, I've never really been attracted to black guys. Ever since I can remember I've just always found white guys more attractive. I honestly couldn't tell you why that is I just don't find black men. Not ghetto black men, educated black men, rich ones, poor ones, it's just that 99% of the time I don't find them attractive. Every now and then there's exceptions but generally I don't find them attractive. I just like white guys, the problem is finding white guys that like black girls
Thank you for your honesty. I'm certain you will be able to find a man who will appreciate you for who you are. If I might inquire, a litte further, and you don't have to answer if you wish not to. Where do you live? No not your actual address, just what region of the world to you come from? How do you think your family would respond to your dating a white guy? This is not a condemning question just a curiosity sort of question. I mean no offense.
I'm from philly and my parents don't really care. I think they knew what was up when I plastered my wall with pictures of the backstreet boys when I was about 12 years old. It's not something that really bothers them, my Dad's pretty much said he won't like any guy I ever bring home no matter what and my Mom just wants me to be happy, they could care less what someone looks like
Backstreet Boys is a trip :-) Shout out to them before Timberlake went solo. Hit me up Wildfire (I sent you a message) - nothing wrong with making friends at minimum.
Yes there are plenty of women that are exclusively into white men but when you let race be the factor then the relationship will not stand. You have to find a woman who is interested in you and not how you look vice versa...Not saying being attracted to someone is not important it just can't be what you want first...Find out if she's willing to do what you like(vice versa) than you found a good match
Oh I completely agree with you, I was just curious, and to see if there were particular reasons for a given preference or if environment could have been a factor. As and example I once knew an African American who was addopted at birth by a white couple, which is completely fine, but her preferences might have been influenced, which is also fine. I'm just saying I can see how that might have happened.
Well that is also true a person want be be in their comfort zone around other people so if you're raised a certain way you wouldn't feel that comfortable around something diffrent unless you're open mined which comes with maturity and most people aren't mature nowadays. But it does have a huge influence on who you'll choose etc.
I love white guys haha:p You guys are awesome, and nice, very sweet and smart, and you have great personalities, and your just overall very great people to be with. You guys like ambition and determination and I like a guy who supports me in my decisions, and you guys seem to do the perfectly. So that's why:)
I used to be, I never found black guys attractive and I could always see myself marrying a White guy but this was probaly due to the envornment I was in. But now I preffer black/mixedrace guys, I do find some White guys attractive tho, so now I don't mind.
I wouldn't say I "seek out" white guys, that sounds odd. :p I just tend to be more attracted to them than others. It's typically a light complexion, dark hair, and pretty eyes that particularly catches my attention, I don't know why. I've been told I'm a black girl that "acts white" which I guess means that I'm not really loud or use ebonics. I suppose that could contribute, but it makes neither sense nor a difference to me.
I would love to date a White guy. I like that they are cuter, a lot nicer to me than most Black guys are, and don't tell me that I need to bleach my skin and put relaxer in my hair. There have been a lot of Black guys that have told me that I looked like a slave and I need to do those things to look prettier.
Black men will say it to your face while whites say it to their friends behind your back.
i kinda share in your opinion my dear
there are many black girls who prefer white guys. me personally, I don't prefer any race over the other. but sometimes girl don't date white men especially cause they get alooooot of crap for it because people still are ignorant towards interracial couples.i got a lot of crap about a white guy I dated. but trust me there are black girls out there that prefer white guys.lol
i share in your opinion my dear, bt i believe same thing goes with the black
hi, my name is Danielle and I would say I accept all races but I do have an curiousity for white guys. I think that race is so f***in cool like I love the sh*t out of white guys. I never been with one but I'm so ready for it...it's something about the way they carry themselves.. especially the skater type or the emo type or the rockstar type. I jus love all men.
I prefer black guys. Many black girls are the opposite. They're reasoning is based all on stereotypes so the reason are pathetic.
I don't see what the biggy is about being white, black, brown, etc who cares LOVE don't have a color!
Thank you! :)
I wouldn't say that I prefer white boys but I do like them now. I had a fling or whatever you wanna call it with a white boy a couple of months ago and it was maybe one of the best experiences I've had in my life. He was very sweet and it was different than my other relationships. Either race is cool. It's just that it seems white guys have more of what I'm loking for in a man.
me personally, not really...
like I couldn't say I couldn't date white guys
because there are a few who I think look good
but overall I am attracted to black guys.
I would really like to be with a black lady as I really found them attractive and big turn on, Is there anyone that would like to do the same?
no. I haven't seen any. I've only seen it go one way. just those freaky white girls (white girls are down for ANYTHING) chasing the popular ball players. g'luck
I'm an African American girl and I find white men soooooo much attractive than black men. I mean, I date them but...I just prefer white men :] I have not dated one though! Yet...lol
Really...I'm so tired of seeing this question..of course there is
Can I add something? I didn't know I was attracted to black women until I was 40. I never saw one like that before the day I saw her in the supermarket. My heart started racing and beating through my chest. I had never felt that feeling before. Ever. I say this with all honesty Barack Obama turned me off black people altogether and therefore I would never have even looked at her during his rule. A thread like this is very important to some people. Please consider.
Yes, there are some BW who prefer WM. I have dated different types of guys, but the most attraction I've felt was from WM. I don't hate BM, they just don't turn me on.
