Why did my crush's friends call me his girlfriend?

FM223
Whenever I am around my crush and his friends, they always tend to tease him around me. My crush told his friends he thinks he likes me, but he keeps giving me mixed signals as if he's testing the waters. His friend used to push him into me and I once felt his back rub againts mine. Even when I dressed nice, (with my hair down and a hoodie that apparently I looked 'hot' in) they teased us even more by saying, "look at her hair, don't you want to feel it?". I literally heard him say that, and my crush just blushes and tells him to stop. However, they have taken it too far by calling me his girlfriend. As I walk by his friend points at me and says, "hey, there's your girlfriend". Just like before, my crush blushed and laughed while hitting his friend on the shoulder. This made him more nervous to talk to and look at me. I was just thinking that he wasn't really as interested in me anymore because of his friends teasing which caused me to get super nervous around him. And not only that, but he also assums that I like him too. I gave him the hints by smiling and staring at him in class. The day after his friend called me his girlfriend, my crush turned around to observe me and smirked when he saw me looking at him. When he finished staring (which was like five or six seconds later) he not only smirked, but smiled to himself (and I also saw a faint blush). He doesn't really talk to girls, and he tries to avoid me in the hallway when I'm around. Literally, he can hear my voice two feet away (it's quite) and as he sees me he just stares at me with an open mouth with raised eyebrows and walks away. He's seems really shy to me, but do you think all of this teasing is causing him to pull away? I want to talk to him, but I haven't in two months because I was too nervous ever since the situation. What do you think this means?
