If a guy says "what's up friend" or "hey friend" does it mean you're friend zoned?

So this guy that I knew this guy for around two months and we only get to see each other in our English class. We share some jokes and he teases me a bit (like when he pretended to hand me the pencil but put it farther from my distance until I had to take his hand and give it back, the second time around he didn't do that). When he greeted me, he was like "hey friend..." And I'm not sure if that means whe just sees me as a friend or not.
