They might try harder to be funny, stumble over words more, avoid you, glance at you more often, try to avoid eye contact while having a direct coversation with you, have other people ask you things for them, or try to adjust their personality according to your preferences. I'm going based off of my experience interacting with my past crushes.

Well, my response is to play it cool. Sometimes I comb my hair back with my fingers, try to lean so as to look laid back and approachable. Sometimes I approach the girl. And if we're talking, I might use a more confident voice and ask many questions. It did win me a girlfriend once.
