Should I correct this spelling? HAY vs HEY

I added this guy on facebook and he messaged me but instead of typing HEY he typed HAY. Hay as in grass that is cut and cured hay. I don't want to be rude but I want to say hey (the correct way) back. Or should I just ignore it and say something else?

What else should I say? lol

i also have the same urge when I see someone making a mistake - I'm also happy when someone points out mistakes I make, in the end it helps me improve, (although saying I should be I would be kinda pointless...)

as yobooty illustrated people can get annoyed by this behavior easily so tread lightly if you want to make sure not to offend (ofc. its not intentional but usually that doesn't even matter)

jk just ignore it. Sometimes I make fun of girls that accidently misspell something but I know some girls that would get irritated if I corrected them. If you don't really know him, I would just play it safe and act like he didn't misspell a three letter word.

Some people type ridiculously and use acronyms like that on the internet and texting. I don't make it a point to correct anyone unless it's a horrible mix up. What person said exceptable instead of acceptable earlier today and it irked me to no end.

Basically, don't say anything. Just say: Hey...etc. whatever you were going to say. And maybe he'll get the hint.

i kind of hate when people correct me, I'm not perfect and I make spelling mistakes so its kind of annoying. plus does it bother you that bad if he wrote "hey" they wrong way? just ignore it he might have just done a typing error. just be like"whats up ____?" "hows your day?" "hows life?" "whatchu doing?"

I do this mistake all the time I am dyslexic and spelling is very hard for me my wife helped by changing it in my iPhone since I almost never need the word HAY in normal conversation now it corrects it for me. He may very well be aware of it. It's embarrassing at times so be careful how you go about it if you like him. Many very successful bad spellers in the world.

I'm not too sure if he was messing around because he has some pretty simple words misspelled on his profile. lol Well I don't mean to laugh but I just kinda feel bad. I'm not sure how he would take it if I said it the right way back.
