From my experience it has been guys who have better smelling rooms. Then again most of my friends are prior military or from some other highly disciplined profession that has leaked into their personal lives. Both of my exes had messy rooms because they just threw laundry everywhere until it was time to do laundry instead of keeping it in a hamper. Same with most of my female relatives. My friends and I HATE clutter and do everything we can to keep things neat and orderly, which affects smell.

Tbh, I feel guys might have a better smelling room. If both genders have similar hygiene don't use a lot of room Freshener and stuff then guys should have better smelling room considering how strong their scents are.
My dad's scent (after shave or something I don't know what) has a really good strong scent that lasts really long

Depends on hygiene but in general, male use less chemicals so their smell neutral ie not much at all, while girls and women fills them with perfumes and candle and other heavy smells that make them worse. So guys smell best by not smelling at all.

I wouldn't know, but my gut instinct would be girls. I think they are more concerned with hygiene/smelling good than guys are on average.

I think guys also sweat more too which probably factors in as well.

Girls. They have a lot of scent products. Guys don't. Therefore our BO is more likely to be evident. Granted I wash every surface in my room as well as chang my sheets every other week. So my room usually smells pretty nice. Yet I pretty much have to do this because my dog also sleeps in my room and she is almost unbearably stinky if she doesn't get a bath once a month.

If it's any other room but the bathroom, girls' rooms smell better. But not bathrooms. I used to work for a company that cleaned movie theaters at night after they closed, including the bathrooms. Women's bathrooms were pretty consistently messier, dirtier and stinkier.
