Why don't guys like funny girls?

If you ask a girl to name things she looks for in a guy, you can almost guarantee she'll say: "Oh he HAS to make me laugh", yet guys never seem to say the same about girls!

Of course guys want their girls to have a good sense of humor, but they seem to really dislike girls who are constantly cracking jokes and making everyone laugh.

Is it because being funny is a 'male' thing?

What do you guys think?

see I love when a girl makes me laugh but I enjoy making them laugh even more...i think that's where the confusion is.

as far as dating a girl who is funnier than me...um sure I guess, although I can't find many girls who are as weird/funny as I am...

i guess it comes down to the kind of funny she is, does she try to hard? is she always looking for attention - if that's teh case then no I wouldn't date her, but if she enjoys making people laugh and can make me laugh that's def a plus...i like "weird" better than funny :)

I think guys like that, just not as much as girls do. And is it really surprising to you that guys and girls look for different things? I mean, you hear girls say how much they prefer tall guys all the time, but how often go you hear guys fixating on height. This is the same thing.

Don't worry about being funny. It doesn't put guys off. But it isn't a huge plus either.

some like it...like I guess some funny dude who told a lot of jokes and played pranks and stuff might...me? I don't know I guess I mean it seems like it would b more of somethin I'd want in a girl friend than in a girlfriend but I guess I'd have to try bein with a girl who's funny to see what I thought about it...

For one, I don't find girls to be funny on purpose. That's for people I know up to female comedians. Girls also like musicians and the like, and it's just not something important for guys.
