How to respond if someone laughs at you for no reason?

Im socially awkward, im shy person, i feel uncomfortable with attention i walked into class and said hi to my teacher and checked my phone and some guy laughed at me and looked at me another guy turned to look at me. I honestly dont know why it felt shitty and my friend asked him why he laughed he just laughed again and looked at me, my other friend looked at me sadly and opened the chair for me. i felt like shit. I don't know what their problem is. Honestly i prefer ignoring shitty people but now i regret not confronting him cause i know he was making fun of me for no reason. what should i do next time?

Uh... he probably meant absolutely nothing by it. If he knew that you would be thinking that, he likely would have not laughed. Maybe it's just that he likes you or something? That's possible. I mean I wasn't there, but I know that the girl (s) I like make me laugh, you know?

Confronting someone like that is more than likely not going to be effective. He acts like that because he himself is very insecure. He feels better about his own insecurities when he can put focus on someone else that is vulnerable.

Just ignore him. He just wanted attention, and confronting him would have just given him more of it. The guy sounds like a complete idiot anyway, so screw him. He's not worth your time.
