basically my guy friend has a crush on another girl and he told me he never imagined her in that way.

He said , "whenever I am about have sexual thoughts about her , I hit myself on the head and avoid it"

what he meant was he actively didn't try to visualize it but if it did accidently he avoided it.

What is saying has some truth. Once guys are around and see a particular girl they like and are attracted to, they will have sexual thoughts and fantasies. Girls are probably the same to some degree. He's just telling you that he doesn't like to have those thoughts and tries to avoid them but yes, it does happen that guys will have those thoughts about girls they are crushing on.

In some cases. Some girls are very classy and homely. We have crush on them, but for relationship. So, normally, our fantasies include us being family etc.

Yes it is. I was like that and I will always be like that. Sex in a relationship is important and will come when time is right but I'll never look for a relationship just to have sex. It's sick.
