please tell me I'm reading into this too much.

So, I did something a little silly. I went onto my boyfriends ex girlfriends Instagram to snoop (I wish I didn't!)

I saw some old comments from my boyfriend saying things like "god, im so lucky to sleep next to that" and "loved last night you looked stunning"

When he comments on my pics its "awww, love you baby" and when we're together he calls me beautiful. I can't help but feel that he was more in love with her than he is me and its really got me down.

Please say I'm reading into this too much guys!

Go snooping and you are bound to find something to piss you off. Or like they say, "assumptions are the mother of all f'ups " You open a new can of worms because of your insecurities. You need to put your insecurities to sleep by trusting your boyfriend. The comment is from the past, so let that stay in the past. All relationships are different. It's not right nor fair on him. His comment to her sounds more passion based maybe that's all it was, your comment however was better. He loves you and he tells you you're beautiful. Appreciate that, appreciate him. Don't look for problems when there aren't any.

People usually don't like to say the exact same compliments or pet names to difference SOs because they want to dissassociate the two people in their mind.

Basically, if he says the exact same stuff to you that he did to her, he will be reminded of a person who he feels betrayed him in some way.

Or more simply, he wants to forget about her.

You're 100% reading too much into this. For all we know his ex was a psycho who told him to make those comments for insta-clout. Only reason to be concerned would be if he posted those comments on her insta while you two were together.

From what i hear of their relationship it was pretty toxic. And she was constantly taking selfies and pictures for Instagram purposes, according to my boyfriend, her Instagram life was a big fake.

However, I still find myself wishing that he would say stuff like that to me. It just feels that he doesn't desire me enough to say those kind of things and make it known that im with him. I like being called beautiful but that doesn't make me feel sexy

And in all honesty, I would say that as a person and in looks, im definitely a step up from her. My boyfriend and I certainly have a lot more in common than they did too
