What does it mean when a guy steals glances/stares at you alot?

Does it always mean he's only interested in sex, or can it ever mean that he may actually like you and want to get to know you?

I’m a 21 year old girl in university, never dated or had a boyfriend, although I’ve been told I’m “really pretty/cute” etc. by guys and girls. Still not many guys approach me, while a lot just stare.

Anyway, whenever a guy gives me the once over (looks me up and down) no matter how attractive I initially thought he was, I suddenly get turned off and assume he would only want sex and isn't interested in knowing me at all. I guess being sized up makes me feel threatened and uncomfortable. Is this a fair assessment of guys? How can you tell if a guy is interested in you as a person, or just looking for a good time if all he does is steal glances and stare a lot? any tips would be great thx!

if a guy looks at you it could mean a lot of things but usually you can't tell what a person thinks just because they look or stare at u...sometimes we do that if we think a girl is good lookin, sometimes we do if somethin about her stands out like maybe the color of her clothes or somethin...yea sometimes some of us look or stare and don't always have the best intentions but only some of the time and not all of us...don't worry just because a guy looks doesn't mean it's dirty...in fact another possibility is that the guy is too shy to approach you or just shy in general

honestly, it always means he is sexually interested in you, but only sometimes is he interested beyond sex.

i check out girls who I think are attractive. but I also check out girls I am interested in. truth be told, if I don't think your attractive, I won't be checking you out. but that's every guy.

thanks for the reply, as depressing as it is to hear. So what should I do? Just continue to ignore them since there's no chance of anything more than sex resulting from talking to them? Haha suddenly feels like no one really wants to know me. -_-

not at all. there is a chance he is a decent guy and is interested you in more reasons than sex. if tis always different guys doing this, then you must be hot. if its the same guy, either wait for him to make a move or tell him to stop staring.

First of all, guys can only judge you by your appearance when they first look at you. You can't tell anything about a person's personality by looking at them. If that is turning you off, your expressions probably reflect that and guys move on.

You don't like being sized up? Well, women do exactly the same thing, so get used to it.

I'm actually pretty shy and don't like people staring at me or being caught staring at others, so when I'm interested in a guy the MOST I will do is glance at him once when he isn't looking. That's it. I don't stare, it's so rude. -_-
