Guys, why is he acting like this?

So, I'm chatting w/ a guy online and he said he "likes me as more than a friend" and he would also send me random "red heart emojis" tbh he said and did these things quite early (which made my eyebrows rise)

however he literally doesn't even try to get to know me or ask me personal questions and his replies are usually one-worded and lead to nowhere. Like what's the point of saying these kind of things to someone?

If it's a online friendship only and you haven't met face to face, you shouldn't take anything he say as truth. I know it's hard at time but you really don't know who that person it
