Nope. Neither side of my genetic line has balding. Just gray hair so I know I'll always have it. Plus I've shaved my head bald 2 or 3 times now just to see what it's like. Not bad. No fear around the subject for me
They say if you don't have a receding hairline by 30 you might not go bald. I'm on a good track so far. My hair is fairly thick and healthy still.
Protip. If you notice your hairline receding confidently enough that you know you'll have male-pattern baldness, shave your head at some point. This will give you an idea of how you will look bald, and how people respond to it. Then as you lose your hair, you know you have this as a backup option.
I did this a few years back for St. Patrick's Day. Went with a shaved head for a couple months. Got a LOT of compliments on it. Plus I grow good facial hair so a lot of people were saying I looked like a hard-ass. I was going less for hard-ass and more for Simon Whistler, but I guess my jaw is too big.
But once you have gone bald of your own accord, going bald in the future doesn't really scare you anymore. Plus, bald men might look a bit older, but their age becomes ambiguous and they don't really appear to age that much. Patrick Stewart is a perfect example.
But yeah, I have exactly ZERO plans to just let my hairline recede and end up with some gross whispy hair on top, or nothing on top and the weird ear-muff thing everyone's uncle does. Bald is stylish.

I choose to be bald. It's better to be bald than complain about your hair falling out. But if you think about it, people who wear scarves and durags are going to lose their hair eventually. On the Discovery Channel Plus, they say 40% of people loses their hair from durags, getting waves, or scarves.
People trying to get waves keeps brushing their hair repeatedly causing the roots stems of their hair to come out eventually.
Women who wear scarves on their head eventually start itching repeatedly and rapidly because they are locking in the moisture and not letting their hair breathe especially when they fall asleep.
Men who wear durags on their head eventually start itching repeatedly and rapidly because they are locking in the moisture and not letting their hair breathe especially when they keep applying hair grease all the time while brushing instead of just brush once a day.
Ask for me whenever my hair grows, I go to the barber shop to trim it bald or I would trim it ball then I would shave it or they would shave it entirely.
I know genetics play a role, and many answers on here are saying stuff about their fathers. But I believe hair genes runs also through the mothers side of her father as well. My grandfather had a full set of hair in his late 70s. My mom's brothers all have good hair in their mid to late 50s and 60s. My dad had good hair also but I think he started losing his hair more based on stress and medication. With medication I think there are side effects with hair loss as well. I think its important to live a healthy, active life, eat right, lay off the booze/drugs and know how to de-stress.
Obviously if guys out there wear tight baseball caps, don't use the right shampoos, don't have the best life styles and take on wayy too much stress it's a recipe for disaster. Stress is a big indicator for hair loss, even women can suffer from it. If it's genetics then guys should stay in shape and just trim their hair with a trimmer on the lowest setting (zero setting) so it gives that 5'o clock shadow look above. Last resort is hair restoration. I think one day they will find a way to cure baldness.
Nope and I won't lose it either. My housemate who's a hair dresser said my hair is crazy thick.
Here's a post I made last time I had a haircut ^^

But if I would go bald I'd just shave off the rest of my hair at some point. I don't know if it's because I just met a bunch of cool bald guys growing up or so but I just respect bald guys the ones I've met were all great guys and confident so I wouldn't be scared of being bald myself.
Not really. I have "baby fine" hair so while I'm not balding at all. It feels like I don't have a full thick head of hair because it lacks that "extra body" that those with thick hair do. When I was younger I had long hair and I'd put it in a pony tail. But because my hair is so fine it looked just like a large rat tail if you ask me. Because I'm not really satisfied with most hairdos I just choose the bald look most the time and shave my head routinely. It's low maintenance and you shave on shampoo lol
Thankfully, the gene isn't in my family so I doubt I'll be losing mine any time soon. If I was going to go bald I would've by now. I know many guys who went bald by 26 or 27.
All the men and women in my family had/have their hair well into old age. Even my grandfather, before he passed away at 89, had all his hair.
I did for a time and even freaked out once my hair started to thin. After a bit I just started buzzing my head and going bald become a non-issue. That and after two major surgeries on both sides of my head I now have large ram horn shaped scars on both sides of my head. So I just roll with it.
When I was in elementary school I use to think, man this hair annoying because it would collect tons of sweat when I was playing sports. Salty water was always running down my face and getting in my eyes, wet hair was sticking to my ears and forehead sucked, my mom was always saying shit like comb your hair… By six grade I shaved it all off and then I never thought about my hair again.
I have lovely full hair, as I'm sure you remember 🤔
🤣 My hair is see through 🤨
In the past going bald made people feel old before their time. So many guys wasting time trying to hide the fact when everyone around new they were losing their hair anyway.
In todays society, its just so easy to shave the lot off and not have a care. It seems societies do grow up after all.
Nope I was afraid of losing the only part that that guy lost lol which is the most important part LOL I would much rather lose it on the sides that on the top well I started losing it on top do I said oh no you dont .. how about this I'm just going to shave all of it off lmao that's what I did and still do.. except the guy in ur post picture his top is gone.. if i was to not shave for a month i can still grow hair up there that guy is bald bald
afraid no... kind of sad yes, lol
I like to have long hair but it would probably look weird, who knows... I might not care either way
Yeah, I don't want to be bald.
My hair is long and whilst my hairline is naturally far back (not even receding), the idea of it happening bothers me.
I wouldn't say afraid but I take action against losing my hair.
I went to the Trichologist and got diagnosed with androgenic alopecia.
I was given a small list of recommended medicines to take. Which I do daily now.
I see improvements already.
I mean I've got substantial hair but every time I go to my hairdressers they comment on my high hair line... basically what I'm saying is if they are right I'm going to make a huge saving on hair gel in the future lol
At fifty, I got most of mine although it's a little thinner in top now lol.
I cut it really short with clippers once a week. It's hot at work and I have to wear a hat anyway.
My mature hairline hit but I still have a head full of hair.. I hope if I still have it at 25 that means I'm gonna keep it lol.. I can't imagine myself going bald despite people telling me it'll suit me and that I look good in a buzz cut
I was one of those people that is blessed/cursed with a full head of very thick hair. My father's hair and my grandfather's didn't start thinning until the hit their seventies and then it was just thinning, not bald so I am pretty unconcerned.
No, I am not. I was blessed by the hair Gods. I'm the only guy in my family with a full head of hair...👍
Nope not at all.
I’ve had it shaved before
Also on Ops it’s been as short as possible without a razor on it.
I made it to 65, and still have most of it, but if it falls out, no big deal. I’m ugly whether I have hair or not.
There are new methods to keep hair, and the technology is getting better, so losing hair will become less and less an issue eventually. The baldness gene comes from the mothers side unfortunately.
I haven’t lost any of my hair so far but my wife and I added into our prenuptial agreement that if she left me due to baldness, I would not have to pay spousal or child support so I’m not really afraid of losing my hair.
No, I'm not worried about this at all, because I've got so much thick hair that even the hair-dressers have often said to me that I'll never go bald (I get it cut about once every month, it just grows really thick and fast).
Nah, I shave my head occasionally anyway. Wouldn’t care
Bella I would be afraid of that. But fortunately male baldness doesn't run in my family.
😊😀🙋♂️
Tbh yeah. Luckily I still have all my hair at almost 30
But then again my father started losing his hair in his mid 30’s so I guess time will tell 💀
I’m probably going to be bald given my gene pool. Keep soccer legs, butt waist tight stomach, reasonable definition in shirt, and shine that pup up so the reflection makes you think I’m a walking lighthouse…
Not at all. I’d just shave it and become more ripped. Guys stress about this far too much in my opinion.
Im balding but I've buzzed my head many times and look good that way, i look good in hats too... so it wouldn't be the worst. But it seems to have slowed down a lot the past few years so i got some time still. Lol.
