I thought this was a common thing among girls when talking about the guys they fancy.

Going back at least as far as I can remember (early 2000s, middle school). Yes, I always wondered what was so "cute" about us, since we go out of way to NOT be cute.

In fact, I thought it was girls that didn't like being called "cute" back then. Could have been a rumor, though, since it doesn't seem to be the case now.

They can be depending on the woman. My girlfriend and plenty of women have called me cute, despite my dislike of the term.

Men would rather hear something like handsome, because it at least sounds like acknowledgement of good looking and maturity.

Cute in relation to men comes off as boyish and like a puppy, not to be taken seriously.

Sure. I know some guys think you should only call kids and women cute, but I think most men would take it as a compliment anyway. May just don't like it because it seems "unmanly," but is hot or sexy or attractive really any more manly to you when you only think about girls in any of those ways?

Everyone would love to be called "the cutest". Neverthless the culture in my region, country doesn't allow for such kindness. People usually are foes to each other. Poeple in Poland are really reseved which is sad, but maybe one day it will change for better

Until age of 12 girls in school and women in my family said I'm cute. Later they used other terms because using term "cute" for a man isn't appropriate in my culture.

Guys who are sure of themselves I find honestly don't mind being called cute, though it could be awkwarddd. I always find that it's the masculine ones who are little less confident don't enjoy being called cute. Something to think about!
