If guy suggest meeting and I say yes does that mean that now we have promised each other to meet?

He asked me out for coffee right after when he comes back from his work trip. He’s going to be gone for couple of weeks. If he doesn’t follow it through for some reason after his trip is it same as him breaking his promise?

I hope that after his trip he sets up specific day for us to meet…

That's what "yes" means. Agreeing to something. If you both don't agree with something, there would be a "no" from any one of you. Also don't hypothetical questions. Probability of that problem occuring is 0.0000001, which would be useless to think about. Think straight:)

Well he wouldn't be scared of rejection as you already agreed to meet him. You have already accepted the date , so there are no chances of you rejecting hik as you have already chatted for month. He is interested in you. He wouldn't have asked you out if he wasn't
