Why did he rub his thigh?

I was hanging out and talking with my friend. He started to rub his upper thigh with slow strokes. I found that disturbing. Is this normal? Why did he do this? It continued for a long time.

Because it was near his crotch. I felt uncomfortable.

I agree, i think it’s creepy, not at all an acceptable way to self soothe, way too close to crotch, it’s completely obvious that the skin is being dragged and that the groin will be affected. Gross that a guy wouod think we would not pick up on it. In my case it was my dad, which made it even worse.
