If he didn't wanna hurt you, he shouldn't have done what he did.

And the appropriate reaction to someone being hurt is not "don't cry you'll make me feel bad", it's "I made you cry, I'm sorry about that - can I apologise, and what can I do in the future to avoid this?".

We may not always know why or how we hurt someone else. But it's our responsibility to follow up, mend the tear, and build back stronger.

Relationships mean you'll get hurt. It's inevitable. What helps is knowing how to learn from and handle that hurt.

You're valid in your feelings and being hurt. He's a dickwad (probably just parroting what his parents told him whenever he cried growing up) who doesn't know how to communicate, and who instead instinctively tries to control.

He's trying to control your emotions. That's about it.
