Surely if someone truly liked you wouldn’t they just text you?

Hear me out before trolls yell at me and go ‘what you expect you whore’ or whatever horrid rubbish. I need to hear people’s real opinions on the matter because I feel I need to move on from this mess. Recently we kissed and we told each other our feelings for each other, I then said this shouldn’t of happened as you have a girlfriend and he told me he’d leave his girlfriend once his done some growing up and he said he doesn’t want to lead me on but he does fancy me. His one of my brothers friends so have been around him for many years. His younger than me and has been with his first girlfriend for nearly 3 years now. His been round mine since with my brother for dinner and that was it. Surely though if he liked me that much he would text me no? I obviously know he has a girlfriend but like why hasn’t he ever text me something or like try to get to know me on a one on one basis? Is it because of her? Iv not text him because i don’t feel it’s my place to do so.
