Guys, if your dad is bald, are you worried about being bald?

I'm not sure a lot of guys would be happy to lose their hair. Women don't tend to have to think about these things as women, but due to a medical condition, I temporarily had alopecia in spots and lost a lot of hair so I feel I understand that pain just a bit (though I also know I am extremely lucky it grew back). If your dad is bald, do you worry about losing your hair or are you just accepting of it.

Yes. I constantly worry. I'm doing things now trying to preserve my hair whether I'm losing it or not

Yes, but it is what it is. I have no plans to do anything about it if I do eventually go bald

Baldness is X-link gene. Means if your dad is bald, it has no bearing on how your hair grows or if you become bald. Basically it’s all your mom’s fault if you become bald. You need to look at your moms family and see if there is any baldness on that side.

Well my dad still has lots of nice hair and his hairline is still in pretty good shape so I'm not worried really. And either way if I do bald I'll bald I mean nothing I can do about it

I've actually got less hair than my dad. 23 And Me says I have an 87% chance of having a full head of hair into my 40s, but I started going bald at 23.

Every male in my family is/was bald except me. It comes from your maternal grandfather. My grandpa had a helmet like Ronald Reagan, so I'm good to go.

The gene for male pattern baldness is passed on by the mother, not the father.

I take some things such as minoxidil to battle my androgenetic alopecia.

I have long and beautiful hair.
