Hypothetically speaking. I think Facebook is more secure in terms of hitting on you as Messenger runs independently of Facebook. So he could be cheating and his partner may not know as he doesn't need a Facebook account necessarily to chat to you on messenger. Whatsapp uses your contacts on your phone so more likely to cause suspicion if his partner checks/asks who this new name is texting him.

Of course I am approaching this from this angle as I'd find it a bit weird if a random stranger wanted to add you on a social media site anyway. I mean he's stood right by you and has the guts to approach you so why not just ask if he can get to know you right there and then?

Depends where I'm at. Whatsapp in Europe, wechat in China, in Canada I would probably ask for insta because I have no ides tbh

Nowadays, there isn't much difference. FB owns WA. IG is converging with ALL social media apps. They ALL do the same thing; suck you in, and get you hooked to spend hours and hours on their platforms, use your personal info, and sell sh! t to you!
